Bradford SEND Assessment and Support Team
Bradford Council's team for EHC needs assessments, plans, reviews and personal budgets.
Bradford Council's SEND team handles Education, Health and Care needs assessments and plans (EHCPs) for children and young people aged 0-25 who need more support than SEN Support alone, including annual plan reviews and personal budgets.
Services from Bradford SEND Assessment and Support Team
Get a personal budget for your child's EHCP
Families of children and young people with an EHCP can ask for a personal budget - money allocated to help meet some of the outcomes in the plan, which you can have more control over how it's spent.
Get your child's EHCP annually reviewed
Every EHCP must be reviewed at least once a year, to check the support is still right and update the plan as your child's needs change.
Read Bradford's SEND School Expectations Guide
Explains what every Bradford school must provide for children with SEND - a published SEND policy, provision mapping, the Assess-Plan-Do-Review cycle, and schools' duties under the SEND Code of Practice - useful if you're unsure whether your child's school is doing what it should.
Read the pre-diagnosis SEND identification and assessment pathway
Bradford's SEN Department's pathway document explaining how a child's SEND is identified and assessed before diagnosis.
Request an Education, Health and Care needs assessment (EHCP)
An EHCP is a legal document for children and young people (0-25) with SEND who need more support than SEN Support alone can provide. It sets out the support needed, the goals to work towards, and who will help. Not everyone with SEND needs one.
