Learn to travel independently to school or college

Learn to travel on your own to school, college or a work placement. This is for students with SEND, or who are vulnerable. It moves at your own pace, and parent carers agree to each step.

Training often starts in primary school - classroom activities in Year 5, then road safety and bus journeys in Year 6 - and continues into secondary school. There is also an intensive 'Independent in a Month' scheme at Ravenscliffe High School and Sports College, and a summer scheme for anyone not yet ready to travel on their own to their next step in education.

Teaches students with SEND, or who are particularly vulnerable, how to travel on their own - to school, college or a work placement. Flexible to the young person's needs, with parent carers authorising each step.
